Programs wont load in 7
Somehitng a bit strange is happening on my PC. I wanted to udate a couple of programmes, including VLC and they just wont update. I download the
latest version, go to do the install and it takes off the previous version as you would expect then fails to load with an error message the update.
So now I'm left with no VLC and no Media Browser for Media Centre, so now I can't watch movies
So other than doing a fresh install of Windows, not a big deal as I have 2 x HDD install, is there anything else I can try?

i have heard of problems with the 32bit version of 7, but that was with IE...
they sound like microsoft progs your trying to run, so i dont see a compatibility issue unless they were from your old pc? designed for running on xp
or vista?
i'm sure there must be a freeware dvd player somewhere on the net, try c-net.com

Its more complicated than that, it's a Asrock Ion home media PC and uses hardware acceleration using both he CPU and GPU chips to play HD
video.
And no, it's non MS software that's cause issues....

well then, have u recently installed windows 7 and started to have a problem? you've read that on the side of the box somewhere haven't
you, if you think about it any software is going to use the cpu and gpu to work...
you could search for previous versions of the same software, or contact any tech support lines. most likely it will be a common problem with anyone
running 7 and they will know about it. if u've purchased the product then they will be happy to help u one way or another.
