Any VW experts?
Our sensible car is a VW Touran 1.9 tdi 2003 with 210,000 ks on it. Earlier today the power steering warning came on the dash and the PAS has topped
working. By crikey it's heavy without PAS.
A quick look on the net fills me with horror. Stories of 2000€ repair bills etc
So. How can I correctly diagnose this one? And, assuming the worst what's the damage for a replacement pas unit and how hard is it to fit?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Mike

Buy a obd2 cable and get a free Copy for vagcom. Will cost you a tenner on eBay and will throw up the proper error codes and descriptions. Can even
turn off lights and clear codes with it. I have one and did my airbag light switch off after a loose cable under my seat.
Check torque cars forums and vsf forums. Every problem I have had on my a4 has Been documented
