Car insurance madness
This isn't another moan about ever-increasing insurance premia, instead it's something that confuses me!
Daily driver is a 1.3 Nissan Micra Si, paid approx 550 last year for it, this year renewal came in at 600, but i went on the company's website
and got another quote from scratch and it came up at around 550 again, so cancelled the existing renewal, and got a new one.
Now here's the tricky bit - I'm tempted to get a 1996 XJ for several hundred quid, and all the specialists and mainstreamers quoted me
between £1500-£2000. Silly.
Directline (wankers they might be!) with 4 years no claim quoted me £600. Out of interest I stuck in the micra's details with them and it came
out at £580.
An XJ vs. Micra and the difference is £20 quid?! How does that make sense?

No-one cannot afford the sheer quantity of fuel it would take to get an XJS up to a speed high enough to do any damage to anything?

When I was 21 I went from a BMW 316i (e30) worth about £800 to a Import MR2 220bhp which I valued at £4500 modified and declared that it was modded
and my insurance went from £1100 to £508! never did work it out.

I just renewed the insurance on the Tiger. I had a fairly big claim on it last year, which was paid. My renewal was £20 cheaper than last year

We're beginning to think they just press a button and it comes up with a random price. Missus yesterday noticed one of her customers has paid
£450 on his renewal of an 07 "big Audi" whereas I've paid £490 on a 2001 106... She thinks being rich makes a difference too
