word processer help
When i got my laptop a couple of years ago it came with microsoft works word processer. It had to be input a product key but never got around to it,
now it has expired and wont work.
Can i get a word processer for free which will convert word docs?
Or can i get a converter which will let me view docs in lets just say Notepad?
Its a pain in the arse really as all i just need to do it change a few details on some docs that i have.
Cheers locosters

LibreOffice is a fork of OpenOffice and includes a filter to read Works files.

another one for Open Office. It converts microsoft products and Lotus.

I use Open Office on all my machines - Linux and Windoze - and it does everything I want. It isn't just a word processor - you also get
equivalents for Powerpoint, Excel and other stuff.

LibreOffice is the latest version of Openoffice.
The key point is the 'Libre'. They've split as there was a different philosophy in the development group. The guys who wanted to
keep it free made the Libre.
Therefore, these are the ones to support!!!

James
