Flat pack roll cage, useful contact
Hello
I have just had a flat pack front hoop, and front to rear stays + diagonal in 1 5/8" CDS, bent up for the very reasonable sum of £155 inc
postage.
The chap who did this is:
matt wetton, matt79@hotmail.com, trades on Ebay as
churpycheap
Matt makes these as part of his living so can supply whole welded cages, flat packs etc, just mail him a PDF showing exactly what you want and I,m
sure he will sort you out.
nb/ My parts used just short of 1 x 6m length of tube with 4 bends in total.

Is this correct? 1 5/8" diameter?
Should be 1 3/4", maybe probably?
Could you please confirm the diameter?

Inch and 5/8 is roughly 41 mm. Blue book states -
Minimum Dimensions (Ø in mm)
45 x 2.5 or 50 x 2.0
38 x 2.5 or 40 x 2 0 (For roll cages/bars approved prior to 1.1.95).
1 3/4" gets you close to 45mm!
I guess it all depends on whether you're competing or not!

I,m not competing, that said my rear hoop is 2" CDS, I just wanted a bit more protection for track days as feel a bit exposed with just a rear
bar.
That aside he will bend what you want, just mail a PDF with your drawings
From the ad:
this is for proper cds mild steel tube- 2" with 2.03mm wall. sold per meter, it comes in 5.8m lengths but realisticly i can only post upto 3m
lengths in one piece unless you want to arrange your courier, however if you know what sizes you need i offer free cutting to aid with postage. i have
certificates for the steel spec for certified rollcages to be used for competition. full fitting, bending by manderal bender available, i only have
the drawings myself for subaru classic impreza- to supply but i am certified coded welder and produce works spec cages, to track day cages- just bring
your shell and then pick it up done. please see other items. can supply almost any size and wall of cds steel tube. i use 2" hoop and 1
5/8" or 1.5" everywhere else. please email any questions. thanks
The closest I got to this price was £200 + postage for 1 1/2"
