Will this work with a Zetec?

Afternoon all,

Hope you're all well?

Just been browsing on the Bay, will this work with a 2.0l zetec silvertop with an MT75 box? I'm not too sure what's meant by 'only use with a 12v negative earth single coil engine?'

I don't know how to do a link, so the item number is:

380340727828

Cheers in advance,

Chris

Yes! will work, but will you be able to see it, it's just a 2" clock, may need some stronger glasses, :-) Cheers Ray

Haha, I've already considered this, but TIM don't do an 80mm in-dash mounted tacho, and the dash already has TIm clocks so ideally I'd like to try and keep one make of guage.

At the minute there's a horrendous pod tacho on the top of the scuttle that looks like it'd be more at home in a McDonalds car park inside a fiesta, so I need something to go with the theme.

Forgive my ignorance but ... doesn't 'only use with single coil systems' mean NON EDIS i.e. not Zetec?

If it works by sensing pulses in the HT lead from the coil on a dizzy system then it cannot work surely.

Just need to know for my own interest too.

I'm not sure whether it'd make a difference, and I didn't mention it in my original post, but my car is running Megasquirt, and I don't think EDIS is being used anyway.

But I see where you're coming from...

I have Megasquirt, and edis 6, and my tacho works just fine, cant remember which lead from the edis you have to tap into, but sure somebody will have the answer. Cheers Ray
