Can I put 10mm spacers under engine mounts to stop exhaust manifold touching chassis?
Just discovered that my exhaust manifold touches the top chassis rail - grrrrrr! My choices are pie cut the manifold tubes near the flange and bend
the whole thing up, or put 10mm spacers under the engine mounts to raise the front of the engine. Would this cause problems with the gearbox mount
being permanently misaligned, and will the slight change of prop shaft output angle wear the pro shaft quickly?
Cheers

no problem doing that at all - as long as the bonnet still goes on.
It will make very little difference at the prop end of the gearbox IMHO.
I did this using marine ply spacers on my car.

Your engine will move much more than 10mm in the general run of things anyway.
Either use the spacers or a large percussive adjusting device.
use the ball pein end of the percussive adjusting device.

If you are using LandRover mounts you can get similar but thicker engine mounts .

Jaguar XJ6 series 1 & 2 mounts. --- very similar to Landrover but they have an extra metal interleave & sandwich of rubber.
