Solid bush materials
Hi
I am thinking about making some solid bushes to experiment with the suspension.
Which is the best plastic to use for suspension bushes - is it Nylatron?
Also, would it be best to use a steel bush around the bolt or is Nylatron (or whichever plastic is suggested) sufficient without?
I should be grateful to receive thoughts and opinions.

From what I've seen you need an inner static crush tube on which the bush rotates otherwise the bush would wear very quickly on the bolt.
You'd also not be able to tighten the pinch bolt enough with out deforming the chassis bracket and squashing the bush tight.

Use either HMW1900 or Delin.
Polyurethane resists turning and can melt so keep stock in the freezer and if a sliding fit is obtained when turning, when the material is back at
room temperature the fit will be perfect.

Delrin is a trade name for homopolymer POM, copolymer POM, under the generic name of Acetal is less expensive.

Why not just oil tight bronze? on proper shoulder bolts?
