Bit of 126 Progress

Slowly it goes, havent done a lot since December due to the wife having a cancer scare and subsequent big operation, anyway all fixed now and she has gone back to work, which allows me to play in the garage.

Wanted to lay down a bulkhead frame, to make sure I can get a manifold in behind it, and also leave a reasonable amount of legroom.

I also wanted a centre tunnel of some sort to house the handbrake/gearstick and possibly route a harness through.

The handbrake lever should be recessed once I panel it in, not doing anymore with it until I have the handbrake cable to hand, and also sourced a suitably short gearshift cable. So started but not yet finished, ie gearstick length, pivot, h/brake etc is waiting till I have the cables.

The dry sump tank is mounted on the ns of the rear chassis leg, and the chargecooler bracket sits across both rear legs, making the pipe runs reasonably straight, and also best use of space I hope.

The exhaust will appear down the left side of the engine as you look at it, into a 4-1 collector, then lift over the driveshaft into the cat, then the silencer mounted across the chassis.

Next things to look at are fabricating a fuel tank for the osr of the car, and a new rear x-member to support the floor and rear shell stiffness to chassis. The cardboard jobby is probably too big, but its not far off.

The top deck of the engine cover is bracketed fore/aft alloy angle, with some work to be done to cover the plenum up, and keep it all under covers.

Best part of today, was the reply I got from TTS - Richard recalled the engine I have, it was one of three built for a team with Reynard single seaters, the Rotrex should make 12psi, and while its directly driven from the crankshaft, they used a manifold referenced bypass on it.

Apparently it all worked very well..

Anyway, Im open to the floor for advice, good or bad. Lets be having it
