Gas torch + BBQ Bottle ??
I was around at a blokes place the other day and saw what looked like a Barbecue gas bottle (holds LPG, I assume, just like mine) with a gas torch on
it.
Is that feasible?
common?
Would you be able to weld with it?
If not - braze? bronze weld? (are they the same or different?)
Suppose it'd heat stuff up enough to bend it??
Thanks,
Greg H

Propane is often used with oxygen for brazing and gas cutting - it's not as hot as acetylene, but a hell of a lot cheaper! (and easier/safer to
handle)
I don't think it's hot enough for fusion welding - you have to have acetylene for that. Will do just about everything else, though.

It turns the metal to coke as it burns so it wouldn't weld. You might be able to braze with it.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
