AGM Bodywork - Butt Fitting Nose Bonnet Scuttle?
A quick bit of help needed.
I want to order the bodywork for my haynes roadster.
Currently there is only a choice between AGM and Equinox. I prefer the style of nose of the AGM kit and the equinox has a higher scuttle, which
I'm not so keen on.
I have a question though, the details for AGM state the nose bonnet and scuttle have no over lap and are butt fitting.
I can't work out if this is good or bad for getting a tidy line as there is nothing for the bonnet to clamp down onto.
Have people managed to get good lines with this type of fitting, I know they sell locost bodywork as well.
Thoughts welcomed, it the biggest purchase so I want to get it right!
Thanks
M

Mike - what did you go with in the end? I'm also about to order bodywork, and am torn between the various suppliers...

From what I've seen I would prefer the butt fitting? The way I see it is that you clamp it together, getting the shut lines as perfect as
possible. Once you're happy, you then drill through both flanges, and then apply whatever fixing you require. I would possibly go for the
'spike and grommet' fixing (no idea of it's proper name!) then a couple of those 'pull tight latches' (again, no idea of
the proper name).
The fact that you can adjust the fit at clamp stage, then have pairs of holes that are perfectly aligned, 'should' mean it's easier
to get a decent join, in my opinion.

I went with the AGM, don't think there is any issue with the butt fitting of hte panel, haven't fully fitted everything yet though.
