Frre internet?
Just had a couple of chaps round (smart suits etc) saying we should have had a leaflet about internet - we hadn't.
They say our internet is now free and they'd like to come and do some tests on our phone and then leave some leaflets. Were they bullshitting
scammers. Told them to get lost
Gotta go, Adam Ant tonight

I don't know for sure but it smells to me.
Do some test on your line = make very expensive phone calls that you will have to pay for and guess who will be charging you for it :-)

Scam no one needs to check your phone line from the inside and there is no such thing as a free lunch
I eat to survive
I drink to forget

Scam.....
They ring a premium rate phone at your expense and they run the premium phone so making huge money for very little.

I doubt it's the premium rate thing- Offcom limits the cost of calls to (and I can't remember the exact figure) something like £1.40 a
minute maximum- annoying but hardly worth the efforts of 2 gents!
More likely a distraction robbery or something IMO.
Definately go and warn your neighbours tho- especially the elderly and more vulnerable ones. Might be worth informing your local Neighbourhood watch
rep' too!

if its not just a scam, I bet you its talk talk
they'll also start telling you how they have a faster connection than BT (they claim to have bought and upgraded some of BT's lines - not
sure how true that is)
they come round mine every now and them with the same script
(although not anymore as we sort of know the new guy that covers the area and he wont hassle us again )
once had a half hour argument with one of them - it was all getting a bit silly:
'do you know the internet is now free?'
'no it isn't'
'yes it is'
no it isn't'
'yes it is'
'no it isn't'
'but you also get free landline calls'
'I get unlimited landline calls on my mobile'
'no you don't'
'yes I do'
'no you don't'
'yes I do'.......
and so on, I wasn't planning on going to talk talk anyway, but I wouldn't even consider joining them after all the hassle I've had
from them
