6 point harness into 4 ?

How do fellow car builders, ive got some 6 point harnesses and only need 4 point, is it ok just to use 4 straps or are the fastenings on the buckle in a different place ?

I've got 6 points but I just use four.
Should be as simple as unplugging the crotch straps and leaving them off!

It is better to use all 6 if fitted. This will prevent submarining in a crash. I modified a pair of seats by cutting a slot in the seat bolster and sandwiching a chrome bezel to a piece of plywood under the seat. It works well and is very neat.

The prima motorsport titon ones ive got all have the same buckle.
I ordered 4 point, but asked if I could get the 6 point straps later, they said all harnesses use the same buckle, so yes, I'd say you can.
The only difference with primas ones is that in 6 point, the buckle is fixed to the lower straps, where in 4 point, the buckle is fixed to a side

That's what I've done. It is expressly not allowed to run 6 point on the road here.

Just as an aside, why are you not allowed to run 6 point?

Hi Joe, I've just acquired new Ricco 4-point harnesses. They have the 5th slot for 6-point crotch straps. The Ricco web-site confirms they are the same buckle and they sell the strap to upgrade to 6-point.

How's the rebuild coming along?

Builds coming on quickly at the moment. Had a good few hours on the car over the bank holiday weekend.

Had a problem with the clutch but sorted that on Friday.

Need to sort paddle shift out next.

Blead the brakes and I might be able to run and drive it in the yard

Then Finnish all the little bits that's needed to hold it together haha
