Track day diff setup
How do
Ive done 1500 miles in my mk now, its brill. Thinking about doing a trackday or two. Just wondering if my setup is suitable fro the tracks. I have a
gixer1000 engine, 3.62 lsd and 888 13" tyres. The car revs out at max speed pretty quick. Has anyone else got this setup and is it ok for the
track? Just didnt want to be maxing out on the straights ect.
Cheers

You could either
A) get a different diff. 3.38 or 3.14
B) hold back your speed on a long straight
C) don't go on tracks with long straights
D) fit bigger wheels

unfortunately that's the Achilles heel of most bec's on track days, you end up getting frustrated as you can't get past on the
straights and then you get
Held up in the corners cos you are not allowed to overtake.
Try to book on one of the smaller twisty circuits like Teeside Autodrome.

You need a taller diff or a short twisty track, brands Indie, Lydden hill etc, airfields tend to have long straights and stones that will harm
bodywork.

Llangdow is mega short as are the 2 mark mentioned.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

I run pretty much the exact same setup as you - K4 engine. Somewhere like Oulton I'm kissing the limiter in top up lakeside. A slight headwind
sees me just short of it. Similar situation going up Clay Hill.
As said above, stick to the more twisty tracks. Places like Silverstone probably won't be much fun, but Oulton, Cadwell, Anglesey - you'll
be able to hassle the GT3s all day long!

Iv took mine to teesside autodrome a few times now, its a bloody good little track for kit cars!
my last day there was £50 for 9-5 open pit!!!!
I managed ok on croft too
i have a blade engine. 3.92 diff and 15" wheels, top speed is about 120 and I never got to it on either tracks
From what Ive seen blyton park will be ok too!
