Alternator for crossflow

Hi..
Thinking of changing my big old Lucas alternator..
I only have front & rear lights - electric radiator fan - no wipers heater etc..
This looks like it might fit...

I can't be sure on this actual alternator but some of the early Jap stuff had external regulators.

I can't really see the advantage of this over the Lucas alternator. Not going to be a small light unit like the modern denso stuff.
