Teenage boys bedroom ideas .
My eldest is 14 now so we are trying to think of some ideas to spruce up his bedroom.
He is really into classic cars (not sure where he gets that from ?)
I have a spare bumper from our mini so thought I might cut a nice thick shelf out of some reclaimed wood & bolt the bumper to the front of it.
I have loads of old spanners so was thinking of welding up some wall hooks using the spanners to hang his school blazer up etc.
He does fancy a metal roll cab instead of a chest of drawers (quite a cool idea) but they are a bit pricey :-(
I have a zetec engine in bits so might be able to use some of those bits cleaned up .
Does anyone have any lowcost ideas for using car related bits ?
By the way, its only an 8' x 6'6" room.
Give a man a fish & it will feed him for a day, give him a fishing rod & you've saved a fish.

Engine valves mounted on a bit of wood for clothes hooks
Camshaft towel rail
Camshaft bearing caps for drawer handles
Alloy wheel with a perspex cover as a bed side table
Old style metal no. Plate with his initials on it

I always wanted a V8 engine with a glass top (wine rack) but probably not the ideal thing for a 14 year old
A friend I new, had a formula 1 rear tyre on its side, with round glass top, and that was a cool table, plus storage
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

Christ when I was that age my room was full of bits of rc cars, motorbikes and half finished projects. No room for fancy decorations :p

An obvious one would be a car seat as a chair or settee? Steering wheel or hubcap as a clock?

You must be a good dad, not sure my dad paid me that much attention when I was 14. He worked, drank beer and built old classic bikes.

Cheers for some cracking ideas guys, something to think about :-)
Picked up some american number plates & have some from old cars ive owned, thinking of printing out some stickers too, spax, champion, snapon
etc.
I am making up a high shelf to go above a built in cupboard, going to cover it in chequer plate fablon so he can put his rc cars on it, I need some
inspiration for a light shade too.
Keep the ideas coming, I will load up some pictures in a few weeks time once I get it done.

Loving the bed rollcage idea but might be a tad over my skill level.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
