Suzuki 413 servo, needed?

Hi there, My current project is putting a jago body on a Suzuki sj (413) chassis, I'm nearing the stage of doing the pedals and steering column, after looking at it last night I might struggle to fit the servo in, how effective is the servo on this model? Would I be stamping on the brakes?
As a classic mini owner I'm also on the mini forums I read peoples posts ripping into the servo how it's not really needed, do people think I could just have a standard bmc without a servo or because Suzuki fitted a servo I should keep it as designed?
Obviously I want a safe vehicle
Any thoughts?
