se7en aero - rigid half tonneau

Hi,

Following the quite recent discussion regarding bad aero I have changed my fabric aero to a more rigid version to see if I notice any difference. The fabric one flapped quite a bit in the wind.

I noticed a difference when I fitted the fabric one (just flat vinal fabric that covered half of the cockpit) compared to open cockpit by at least 5mph at top end and more at slightly lower speeds. It just has a bit more go at 50mph+.

TBH I dont fully believe the propaganda of se7en aero. My car keeps up with Furys and full bodied cars with similar power. I have open front wheels, open exhaust manifold and big rear arches. Its certainly no slippery fish!

The current hard tonneau design is very basic and may not even handle 120mph winds, I will find out on Friday at Rockingham!!

yup, I certainly will. I went to brands a couple of years back with a mate in a neat track dedicated182 clio. It was wet in the morning and I had real trouble keeping up.

Weather says potential downpour but over 30degC. At least the track will dry quickly.

Yeah my last brands day was wet and found myself hussling most of the caterfields.
My father in law is coming and is a novice. A spin at brands last time out knocked his confidence so im hoping a fldry few hours to get him in to the swing of things.
