What rack have you used? Are you referring the the yoke that fits onto the rack input shaft?

Ive used the column and rack from the same DOHC donor so obviously no problem to fit. Do you have the column that mates to the rack - can the ends be changed over? just a thought.

A pic might be useful so we can see how your current set up is fitting together. The yoke has a pinch slot, is this slot fully closing befor ethe bolt gets to torque? Is the bolt located through the cut out in the racks shaft OK?

WRONG!!!!!!

You need a column from a power sierra because the manual one has the cast lower link and cannot be welded.

Drill out the rubber donut at the botton, get just the rack input shaft clamp from a manual one, and bolt this to your modified power column lower shaft via the rubber donut (use 40x8mm bolts with nylocks instead of the rivets that ford used)

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

mine wasnt cast, it was forged, I cut it in half, turned up the ends to fit my tube & it welded great. trust my life with it
