New Builder

Hi Guys - my first post

I'm looking at building a Hysabusa engined indy for trackday a ocasional road use. To replace a very expensive to run evo 8 !

The MK kits look well built - however looking at the news on their website i see that they have a new futuristic 7 with independant suspension coming soon - anyone know when ? and do you all think it will be worth me waiting for or is the current set up good enough ?

It also mentions an all new mid engined car - anyone know anymore ?

Are MK a good company to deal with ?

Thanks

Hi TCB, welcome to LCB!

I don't know when the new MK cars will be ready, but I'm sure they will be very good when they are.

In the meantime I can tell you...

I'm very happy with the quality of the MK Indy kit that I'm building.

I drove MK's early Fireblade engined demo car and was very impressed.

I have found MK friendly and easy to deal with both before and after buying the kit from them.

HTH and good luck with whatever you decide to build!

Nick

If I were building another - I'd build an MK.

(Although I am now building a locost as someone gave me a chassis for free)

Or a GTS...
Seem to be two of the more friendly companies with quality products.
Pat..

lets not forget marc at MNR - but since we are in the MK section and the chap has decided on an MK, i will also say, 'fine choice'.

there are very high standards in most parts of the kit car world, there has to be due to competition. you will get on just fine with MK.

as for info on development cars, snoopy on this forum works for MK, he's always a good source of advice. knows his onions.

welcome to the forum by the way, hope you have fun (is it possible to NOT have fun in a garage with cars and tools?!)

I'm happy with mine

And MK have been very easy to deal with in my opinion.

What is your location ?

Pop along and see/meet them for yourself on a saturday morning, bound to be someone there to take you for a spin.

Thanks - don't sound like anyone has a bad word to say about them !

I thought the quality of the enginereing on the 1 I saw at a show a while back spoke for itself

I was offered some running gear yeaterday - busa engine ,box with all ancilleries, engine loom, ecu, dash, exaust man, battery, main bike loom with switch gear.

£ 2500 - is that a good price ?

Is there any other bits off the bike I may need ? it's a complete bike so best get them now thrown in with the deal if i can ?

Hi, even though Mk Sportscars and Mk engineering(Martin Keenan) are still very closely linked, the futuristic Seven is an idea that Martin himself is developing.
Snoopy might know more than me although I dont suppose it matters too much who you ask !
Whoever ends up selling it is perhaps another thing,I'm definately interested in one of these myself and the initial drawings look very good.
I also think that there are a few mods planned on the suspension geometry side from lessons learnt with the Indy, having said that I still believe the Indy to have one of the best set ups on any seven type car.

Once I've finished a project why do I start another?
