Ford Focus Donor
Hi all.
Just sold the X-flow engine, so we are now getting on with the Blacktop transplant in our Locost.
As we have a complete Focus, just want to be certain we are taking all that is required, before weighing in the remains.
We are going bike carbs, and probably Nodiz ignition, but are there any odd bits from the car we should be keeping?
We will try to use the brake master cylinder / servo, as the one on the Locost has no servo assistance, and the brakes are horrendous (it is a track
only car), so will keep this, and the pedal box.
I think the radiator is too wide to fit in the Locost, although we will grab all the hoses.
The brake discs and calipers we will also keep (there are rear discs, as the Focus is the GTR (or whatever) spec, in case we find a use for them at
some point.
Any other pointers greatly appreciated, as I would be gutted, having weighed it in, to then find we have binned some essential / expensive
component.
Cheers

By any chance are you using the wheels? If they're 5 stud and in decent condition, I'm after some replacements for my Mondeo...

You don't need a servo on a Seven. Been driving my Sevens now since 1989 and never felt the need to fit a servo. Most of the time I have had
discs and callipers that originated on a Triumph Herald/Sprifire and even on the track they were adequate especially with decent pads fitted. I have
now got HiSpec Billet 4 callipers and bigger (non ventilated) discs (will just fit under a 13" wheel) and the brakes are absolutely magic even
with the road spec Volvo 240 pads.
If your brakes don't stop a lightweight car there is something seriously wrong with them and a servo will not cure it.
