Alfa Spider (916) Twin Spark help
Step father in laws beloved Twin Spark Alfa Spider sensor has just failed it’s MOT because the Lambda sensor is garage tried to replace it but
couldn’t so he took it to the local Alfa main stealer. They said it was completely rusted up and because it was attached to the “camshaft etc”
(mother in laws description...) it would be £1400 to replace!
I’m not familiar with Alfa’s but is there anything special about the Lambda sensor? If it is really bad then presumably a new exhaust manifold and a
new sensor would solve it if all else failed?
Otherwise, anyone want a 916 Spider?!

More likely to be the catalytic converter?

nowt to do with the cam,s , it will be just before the cat, http://www.lambdasensor.com/ is good for sensors, maybe you will need a cat as well as
it,s likley well rusted in, they are availabuble from fleabay for reasonable money now....just a bit of a struggle to fit with rust and all.

nowt special about 916 GTV lambdas. Standard 4 wire narrowband will do, even if some claim that the Alfa's are "pickey" and need oem
parts. As long as you get a sensor from a reputable manufacturer (Bosch) that isnt counterfeit you'll be fine. If it is really badly rusted in:
drill a hole and fit another lambda bung....
