Engine Angle

Hi,

I'm putting a MX5 NB engine and box in a Haynes build (with MX5 mods). As I understand it, the mounting points for the NA and NB engines are the same. In order to clear, I think I'm going to have to angle the engine and box nose up about 2 degrees.

Is that cool?

Thanks, Geedle.

2 degrees is nothing, your engine mounts would settle more than that and your car pitches on the suspension by a lot more.
The Pinto engine was set in the Sierra at a steep rearward angle in comparison

Up to 5deg is usual, and it also helps to rid the cooling system of bubbles.

That's what I thought. On a steep downhill, under heavy braking, the effective nose down angle would be much bigger. Thanks.
