Carb will work fine. Just blank the hole/pipe up...
As a matter of interest, what dizzy do you have?
Dont just build it.....make it!

Ahh, thats why I asked. Chances are that you are gonna have to replace the dizzy too...

If it is out of a Pinto, yep, should drop straight in. Doddle to wire up too. Wire from dizzy goes to negative side of coil. Postive side of coil to
ignition live. Fit the HT leads.
Thats it.

Ive just had similar experience as you. my donor is 2.0 Pinto from injected 1988 Sierra. Dizzy has no vacuum advance but does have a rectangular plug
connection on the side. In laymans terms the hall effect needs a signal from the ECU via the amp to make the electronic vac/advance work. Without the
crank sensor and injections sensors etc the hall effect doesnt work - i was told it will run fine at full throttle but nowhere else! (ie not much
use).
Iam now looking for electronic dizzy and amp from 1.3 or 1.6 pinto, pre'86 2.0 or carb transits. These dizzys have the round vac advance unit
(mechanical) and the dizzy plug on a flying lead with 2 wires and round plug. The points type should work fine, easier to fit and you can go for
lumenition etc later.
Here is the link to my thread ealier this week where the penny finally dropped for me! In it there is the link to James thread where there are some
pics that helped me a lot.
Any questions then dont hesitate to ask again. HTH
Darren.
