Bike engine info blades beware!!!

Have decided on a Bandit 1200 motor for good torque which starts low at 4000rpm and carries on in a flat curve until 9000+rpm blades can only dream of this!!!!!!!!.
Loads of tuning parts available since its a detuned GSXR 1127cc motor.
For anyone still looking comparison table attached for what its worth.
Only weak point is apparrently clutch which was taken from a gf800? rarther than GSXR1100.
GSXR's themselves are still dear as they are sort after by many including single seater racers and sidecar racers apparently.

The bandit gives 72ftlb torque std and about 80 with a dynokit (less than £100)

Pete,

You may want to research whether the bandit engine needs sump baffling or dry sumping. If you change the orientation from transverse (as in bike or sidecar) to in line you may risk oil starvation during braking or cornering. I only know that I was put off the new Gixxer 1000 as quite a few people told me stories of them going pop if not dry sumped and what was an affordable motor if protected correctly became very pricey.

Hence I changed mind to R1 which seems to only need sump baffling. Blades, CBR1000s and ZX9Rs seem to get away with no mods at all.

Dry sumping and other protective measures can add from £500 to £2k onto the cost of a BEC. Plus the weight and more moving parts to go wrong.

Just my 2p worth which may only be worth 1p.

Jim
