Locost wheels...

I've bought a set of RS alloys, £40 off ebay from a bloke near Hebden Bridge so we're off on a day out tomorrow. It looks a nice place to visit. It'll probably cost me that much for wheelnuts for them but I've been looking for these or Revolutions for a while now.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I assume youve got 13" RS's on? I have to say i think the se7ens look well smart with these on - very retro. I have been told that 13" or 15" wheels are the best diameters for performance / grip.
Does anyone have a problem fitting these. My front calipers are catching my RS alloys. There seems to be a casting rib down the back of each wheel that catches the front of the caliper. (std sierra calipers etc set-up). A couple of washers on the back spaces them out OK (for garage use only, i wont do this on the road but looks like some narrow spacers are reqd).

Does anyone else have similar experience? (How do you identify the ET rating?)

Oi ! I resemble that remark..

You may find this difficult to believe, but this is now an alloy free zone. All sold

Although...

Now that I have the GTM and have been sprinting in it, I need another set of wheels. I have just acquired some Yokohama A008Rs and A032Rs which would wear out in no time on the road, so I need another set of wheels.
The tyres on the car are fine for running around on the road, but fall apart under track conditions.

I have a couple of irons in the fire, but if you hear of any Rover metro pattern alloys, I will be very interested.

Yep - I knew that bit. But I already have the tyres - in 13" sizes.

A local scrappy has the 6 spoke metro alloys. I could transplant my road tyres onto those and put the soft tyres onto the 7 spoke wheels already on the car.
I'll keep looking.

Montego was large PCD with big dia wheel studs --- pretty sure it was 4.5" same as the Maxi, Stag and MGB

I bought a set of wheelnuts for Capri Laser alloys from Lolocost. They were a pound each, but very good quality. Be worth a look if you go to Stoneleigh.

Cheers mate, I'm only 10 miles from Lolocost here and I visit them occasionally. I'll have a look.
