Zetec-MT75
Hi there,
Can anyone of you help me out. I'm going to connect a 1.8 zetec engine to a MT75 gearbox. I already have the right (standard) flywheel and
clutchplates but do not yet know what bearings I should use. I have understood that a spigot bearing is needed to support the gearbox input shaft, but
what type/artnr do I need? Secondly I need a special/modified releasebearing. I saw that Westfield is offering this special releasebearing for
55pound (in euros it's even more) but I hope that someone can suggest me a cheaper solution.
Thanx in advance,
Dr. Bob

I think the standard spigot bearing from the sierra (any) is the one for the job.
Release bearing does indeed need moding, it requires a 19 mm spacer glued on to the standard sierra mt75 item..I diidnt fancy the idea of gluing the
two together and picked up one on ebay that had only done a few miles for about £12 This was a westfield one and it was a standard ford bearing with a
19 mm spacer glued on ..Im pleased I didnt pay £55 quid for it...
I understand that the standard mt75 bearing cannot be purchased on its own from ford or anyware elts(may be wrong and often are) So if you havent got
one to mod then the westie one is easier allround.....
If you get stuck for one ,and can find me a peice of bar stock ill turn you one up on the lathe,I even have a couple of bearings on the work
bench(need a good clean ) BUT you will have to glue it your self....
Have a search on here a few have made there own........

Just to confirm the spigot bearing for the mt75 engine /box fits..I paid a tenner at Fords today..Tapped it in gentlly with a socket and a rubber
hammer...
The guy at fords said the part number, and the part itself is differant for the type 9's and the mt75's???????????????

Dunnel do a clutch which uses a standard Sierra MT75 release bearing, no need to mod at all. The problem is I did'nt take a note of the clutch
part numbers, but if you are buying a clutch give them a call. Their sump and modded flywheel are good kit too.
