Newark Roadworks A1
Don't know if they are still in place but last time I drove North up the A1 past Newark I got stuck for about 45 mins in a queue at the turn off
for the Showground. Southbound looked pretty bad too.
Do any locals / regular users of the A1 know if these are still in place?
If so it may be worth taking an alternative route to the Showground, to save overheating in the traffic.

I'm gonna take the A1 - A57 - A1133 - A46
Should bypass the roadworks

I've been up and down the A1 around this area about 5 times in the last week. Southbound is awful down to North Muskham, takes about 20-30 mins
to get through or more when at its worst, northbound seems fine when I was driving. I don't know where the turn off for the show is though (need
to find out as I want to go)

last year was ok as the road works were not too bad but the year before I got stuck for 30 mins just crossing over the A1 roundabout.

I'm up and down the A1 daily.
Southbound on a Saturday it shouldn't be any more than 15 mins delay if that.
Northbound maybe 20-25 mins if it's bad, but I think it's unlikely...
Sunday shouldn't be any problems.
I think they're due to finish the end of the month, but by then it's too late of course...

I should clarify...
The roadworks are just North of Newark, so Northbound I can't see there being any problem at all actually.
Southbound will be negligable problems...
I'll shut up now.
