Megasquirt fuel map wanted for V8 rover

Hi,

I've been just finished building a megasquirt controller for a 4.6 rover V8, to get it started has anyone got a baseline config I could pinch to get the thing running. When I turn it on I get 1 pulse on the injectors, then nothing !

Any V8 rover map should do in the first instance.

You will only get a single pulse until the unit thinks you are cranking the engine. Have you got the threshold rpm for this set too high? In my experience with Megasquirt, the base map it generates once you enter CC, injector rate, etc works well enough to get the engine running and you can then tweak it up/down.

Thanks Chris, I was pondering the problem and came to the conclusion that the engine was not seeing the engine turn, I'll have another go tomorrow with your recommendation and see what happens.

How are you triggering it Mark?

When you crank the engine with Megatune connected you should see 'cranking' appear on the status bar and the rev counter should rise slightly. If you are sure the engine is triggering correctly run the ECU up on a stimulator and gradually turn the rpm pot up to make sure it's not the Megasquirt itself.

All up and running now Chris, its throwing out loads of black smoke so a fair bit of tuning ahead !

This will await the weekend as I need to weld a bung for the Lambda probe.
