Just got a TIG....
Hi Guys, after a long time seeking a good deal I finally got a Miller Syncrowave 250....
Any comments, good or bad?
It seems a decent machine to me, but is there anything I should look for or be aware of?

bloody good machine mate, very reliable and easy to use/maintain, i have used the 250 for the last 11 years

Aye throw away yer Mig fer chassis work trust me you will be converted.... wishbones..... petrol tanks!!!!!!

I'll second Shug on this he's converted me! It is a great process particularly if you have worked on gas before, all the control and
neatness faster and with less heat.

You got Tig? Luck git!
I would love a Tig machine.
I did quite a lot and got my city and guilds in it a while back.
Hoping to go halves with someone on one day. Might cheat and go with one of these new-fangled inverter types but the boys at work who use them all day
recon they're not as good as the old type.

I would go halves with you James but I think
we perhaps are a little too far apart and I would probably need to use it more than you as I haven't had the practice you have PS . I
wouldn't want to fight you for it.

As if he's going to own up to that  I used one years ago and would like to try again but I wouldn't get rid of the mig. I still have a
portapack but the bottles are empty and it doesn't get used any more.

I knew a Hugh Patterson, I think from Cambuslang many years ago. We both worked in the same garage. He had a brown TR8, I had a green one. A guy who
did fabrication there called davey (never knew his full name) was an expert with TIG - he demonstrated welding cigarette paper once - not very neat
but he joined two bits.
Anyway, I've been wondering for a while if this is the same Shug.
