wax finish coat on grp
Having had a bit of a break over winter, and building an 'extension' to my garage, Im now about to do the tricky grp bits on my morgan look a like
locost based car.
I just bought a loada stuff to make the grp with.
However, I have just read that the final 'finishing coat' of resin (the bit thats exposed to air - not the bit facing the mould) needs to be a
special type. I.e, it needs wax in it to seal against air or it will be forever tacky.
I hav enot read this in some other readings I have seen.
Can anyone advise if it is necessary to apply a wax element to the final resin coat?

Only gel coat stays tacky, so if you put gel coat as a "finish" on the inside of your mouldings, you will have this problem, my advice is - don't!.
It'll crack anyway. A good lay-up should be quite flat anyway, ordinary resin needs only a light sand and a paint, Rubbercoat is good for under
wheel arches, prevents starcracking.

So I didnt forget to order something then 
I assume 'rubbercoat' helps to cushion the impact from flying stones causing cracks from under the arches? Would underseal have the same effect?

No, underseal has no shock absorbing effect. It just stays tacky!
Rubbercoat is very good stuff as it goes on very thick. It is literaly a coat of rubber you paint on. It doesn't stay tacky like underseal and won't
wipe off.
It is good at sound insulation as well, but a bit expensive if used in that way.

I recon the cleanest and simplest thing to do is I can get hold of soft 1mm plastic sheet - summat like ABS. I can line the top inside of the arch
(where the stones will impact) with that rather than mess with something that paints on, and its free.
