Once upon a time
I read a book. . There was a boy and girl in it and they had a dog that liked to run.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

What's your chosen subject Jon?

This lot (http://www.lulu.com/) were on Radio 4 this morning.
Means you don't have the hassle of getting a real publishing deal (almost impossible these days). But has the down side you don't get to
see your book on the shelves of WHS et.al.
Probably only works well for technical books with audiences sizes the big boys don't care about, crap for novels I'd imagine.
Avoid vanity publishing like the plague unless you have more money than sense.

some blokes here at work are the guru's when it comes to linux. They've had a number of books published. Had a funny moment when i went on
a course with them. The lecture was handing out his book being all proud etc etc and they started to talk to him. He was all "its not done
badly, couple of thousand copies etc". He realised they knew a lot so asked them if they'd written anything. 10 or 15 volumes later he
realised he wasn't in the same league, especially when they started talknig about 100,000 copies shifted.
funny to watch.

I've just been given the go ahead on a book which three of us are writing between us. Nothing exciting though - it will be a support guide for
students doing a marketing qualification.
Hopefully a future one will be car related!

my mum had a book called 'splat' published once, and several others too. Recently came second in some competition at the edinbugger
international book festival She has done a lot of proof reading, had many short stories published in magazines etc, and currently edits a psycology
magazine. She's the best mum in the world!

Various family members have written various things, do a search on amazon for 'Matanle'.
I haven't written anything myself unless you count my dissertation, that resembled a book by the end of it!
Andy, could have done with your marketing book last year!
