Welcome to the madhouse!
Don't know where you're based but I can highly recommend the Welding Course at Brooklands College.
That's where I learnt to weld and I even stayed on for an extra couple of courses and built most of the chassis there aswell.
If you go, keep an eye out for Graham's chassis. He's taken even longer to build than me!
Cheers,
James

It's 6-9PM.
All on the website http://www.brooklands.ac.uk
Bit of a trek from Uxbridge to there though. Must be somewhere nearer you can go to?
Hope that helps,
James

How much did the course cost and over how many 3 hour sessions did it last?
Also, is it possible to get a course lasting for say 2/3 full-time days?
And how did you find that course? i.e. What key words did you use to search for it?

Brooklands course is 10x 3 hour sessions. Last term is was running Mon, Tue or Thursday so you can choose a course that suits your free evening a
week!
Not sure now as my main tutor has left but you should be able to choose to spend the whole time on one type of welding or try out MIG, TIG, Gas or
Arc.
I got City&Guilds qualified in both MIG and TIG.
I found it initially by phoning my local technical college. If they ran a course it was the same night as my kickboxing class so she put me onto
Surrey Adult Learning Support (I think it was called!). I spoke to them and they mailed me a document with all the local welding courses. There were
about 10 on there and Brooklands was the most suitable so I chose that.
Just contact you closes Technical or FE college and start with them.
Cheers,
James

I spent some time enquiring about the Mig/Tig welding courses near me today. It looks like the best and closest one to me is also Brooklands.
I'm (hopefully) being sent an application form today.. course starts on Monday ...
What's the general structure of the course/classes?
Is there like one tutor with 10/15 students in a room all with welders doing what they like to get some practice in?
