Help desperately needed!!

Hi all, came to my pc this morning, switched it on, and it freezes on the very first screen, that says Asus, A8N-Sli SE Press Del to enter setup. It won't let me press delete neither, and the HDD light is permanently on. the HDD's are fine and work, I switched it off last night all was ok, then today I get this. No reason why it should, and I'm guessing the mobo is buggered. Anyone suggest anything else it could be?
Cheers
Matt

Any beep codes issued?
Try reseating everything i.e. drive cables, memory, any add in boards video etc.

Cheers

Alex

If you don't get any joy getting past the freezing. You may need to reset the BIOS which may be explained in the motherboard manual if you have it.

Basically though you need to find the reset jumper (also look for CMOS CLEAR or abbreviations) on the motherboard. With the power off move the jumper to the clear/reset position and turn the PC back on. Usually not a lot happens so power off, move the jumper back and power on again.

To do a proper deep reset disconnect the power cable, move the jumper, power on. Obviously nothing will happen as the powers disconnected but this will ensure a full reset.

This may cure it or maybe at least let you get some more BIOS info before it locks solid again. You will however loose any manual settings entered in to the BIOS before hand.
