TIG-Tastic on Steel
I have had a day 'playing' (and burning my finger tips) as SHMBO has put it, and these are my latest TIG welding results.

But my Ally welding still sucks!!!!!!
SO.... I know my technique is good, i'm must just be looking for the perfect settings!!!!

Compared to welding steel, ally welding is quite difficult.
I'd concentrate on one metal for the moment if I was you. Get your steel welding down to a tee - butt/overlap/angled/different thicknesses etc.
Take note of settings for each until you're more experienced.
Ideal settings is what it's all about.
If someone on here is local to you, or you can find a college/company that has ally welders (people, not machines), see if you can persuade someone
to gives you some on hand practice/tips.

Try it on the thinner stuff first.
I practiced on a 10mm bit of plate steel, thought it was dead easy (wondered what all the fuss was about) THEN tried to weld bits of old bodywork.
Much harder
course blamed the bl*@dy machine (like a true workman)!
If it doesn't fit MODIFY it!!
