Another Numpty paypal Q ?

Was paid for some goods yesterday, got the email saying it was paid etc.......packed the goods ready for postage, checked paypal account and found this......

"unclaimed" in the status line, there is an accept/decline icon but every time we click accept it comes up saying some info is missing ?

23 Apr. 2007 Unclaimed Details (accept refuse) £34.99 GBP £0.00 GBP

You will also see the fees are £0.00 as they haven't been taken yet as we haven't claimed the payment, but however we try we don't seem too be able too ??

Never seen this before, its either said pending or complete, never unclaimed, reading the "help" and "faq" section of paypal it only talks off unclaimed form a buyers point of view, not seller........

Anyone throw any light onto this.... ?

not sure if its the same thing but about 3 years ago i bought and paid for somwthing on paypal

the seller apparantly didn't log in to paypal\ and "claim" the money. the net result being he sent me the goods and i got my money refunded about a week later. I tried for about a month to get hold of the guy but to no avail

on that occasion i got my cake and ate it

Jon, are you sure that you have the email address registered & confirmed? I seem to remember a similar incident a while back.

I had something similar recently - being something of an e-bay numpty myself. I had to register an account with paypal and have it verified before I could withdraw a payment. They put two small deposits into my account and I had to confirm the amounts with them. I could then use that account for carrying out transactions. I can't quite remember how I did it, I think you go to the pay-pal home page and follow the links for register/verify account.

Unclaimed means the seller hasnt taken the money in to his account yet.
Some times you pay and it goes by Echeque whick takes seven days.
Dont worry about it its the sellers issue.
hope that helps

He is the seller!!!

and I am pretty sure that he has already gone through the "two sums of money" trial. (haven't you Jon?)

The only suggestion I can think of is that once, when I tried to do it, it didn't like my direct login, but when I logged in via ebay, it allowed me to collect the money...
