water pump to radiator
Afternoon
looking at routes for the hose from the water pump to the radiator. Obvious choice is to come off and instantly turn but that means the hose is
inside the fan belt!
Seeing the engine is yet to be turned over in anger it seems too risky to plumb it in that way in case I need to work on the fan belt as for instance
fitting a new one would require removing the hose.
going under the fan belt seems to put the hose extremely low and prone to being smacked by spped bumps etc
The other obvious route takes it near the steering column.
What have you guys done?

On mine I have taken the pipe from the water pump, under the steering column, it then loops round back over the column and is secured using a bracket
to the offside rack mounting bolt.
The bracket was made up using a small piece of ally. It then goes off to the radiator connection.
Not got any pictures loaded on here unfortunately. If I get time tonight I will try to get some up.

I can't believe it'll be lower than the bottom of the sump will it?
If it's not, then speed bump/sump interaction is going to be of greater concern!
Cheers,

any pics?
about through the fan belt - not ideal but how often will you bbe changing the fan belt? when you do, you could flush out the radiator and replace
the anti-freeze so probably end up doing it morel ike what the manufacturer recommendation!

IMHO it would be best to avoid it going through the fan belt. If the belt broke whilst out and about you would at least be able to replace it without
having to disconnect hoses/risk losing coolant. Cheers, Pewe
