1. you wont get an airfilter over them.
2. First time you rev it No.1 and 2. trumpet will break off.

I think you may need an upswept manifold

haha i know! After all that! Runs sweet as a nut now though. Sure there is more pull now the venturis are the same size!

Was moving house as the weekend and had to run the car over in the rain (only about half a mile or something). It was drifting all over the place!! Great

Close I would have said no 3 is the RIGHT way round, the others need checking.

edit part. -----
HE he he. When I posted this I hadn't scrolled down any further than the first & second posts, and only found out I was right after I had posted and then scrolled down further.
I bet you've got a great big grin on your face now it runs proper like.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

I would have said the same Rupert! Are you SURE??

The tapered thin end should be at the outer, inlet, end.

The venturis have a bit pushed in the end which determines their size, its the smaller end which points to the outside of the carbs.

Another way to tell ( and i am looking at a Weber manual) is the fuel feed sticking down in the auxilary venturi is cut at an angle that is deeper in the auxilary venturi at the outer end slopping up towards the engine end.

3 still looks the wrong way round to me but it might be an optical illusion in the photo!

Three is correct then.

Also a good clue is that it did not run and now it does with all facing as three is in photo

I can confirm that the Pinto makes a better car engine than a boat anchor, I did a little experiment in my dinghy at the weekend, didn't even make it to the water the trailer snapped in half
