Simplest ignition system to use is an Xr3 Carb dizzie.

People used to bin the EFI for webers years ago to increase power so it should be fine as is.

Hi i have bike carbs fitted and i get approx 30 - 35bhp over the std carb
ignition you could use a megajolt and dump the dizzy
I would think the head you have will be OK to use

cvh carbs
Im in the process of doing the same on a 1600 lean burn CVH with ported head, gone for the standard cvh distributor with the vacuum advance which is
simply wired to a coil with no electronics! got zx6 carbs which are 38mm bore which should be just fine. only problem with these carbs is they need to
be mounted at approx 45 degrees to keep the float bowl level. some less modern carbs can be mounted near level which would make the inlet manifold
straighter. hope to have it all up and running in the next week!
