Keeping cool in a middy
The changeable weather that we have been experiencing lately means that I have had my roof section firmly fixed to take advantage of the weather
proofing (it's my daily driver too)
I do not have aircon but I do have a fresh air vent attached to the heater assembly but when the sun shines my car is still like a microwave on
wheels. I need to install some kind of ventilation to let more fresh air in and let the steam out 
I am considering mounting a couple of PC fans in the dash, directly behind an 'eyeball' vent and plumb the whole lot to another fresh air
intake somewhere.
Has anyone played with these fans before? Any suggestions regarding power (cfm) etc?
Any help will be appreciated - I'm slowly melting

You want the blower unit from a polo or something....a centrefugal fan like the ones in the blowers would be much more effective than an axial
type....

Totally Agree. If you want any amount of pressure, then you need the "Snail" fans like in heater units.
An Axial Fan is alright for shifting air, but it needs an almost pressureless environment.
Just use an heater fan, as long as its not an Axial fan, and is of the "Snail" (centrifugal type) type.

What about one of
these. This is in the USA but there are UK suppliers as I was toying with using one to shift some air through my rad when
the car was stationary.
I don't know what type it is and whether it would follow the previous recommendations.

There are usually some powerful PC fans available on Ebay that'll shift 84cfm of air if there any use, around £7 each i think Tornado case
fans.

I already have one of these to vent my engine bay of hot air when I leave the car after a blat - if connected up to a 12v supply on the bench, they
actually move themselves under their own power!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Hi Mark
Can you tell me where you got yours from please. I'm not sure if I'll fit one (I don't have room for a conventional fan) as
I've not had any need as yet.

Ooohh quite a few ideas - thanks guys.
tegwin / wilkingj - I know the snail type would make more sense but as I already have a twin squirrel-cage fan for the heater it might give me a space
problem.
Stevec - I already thought about these but the price is just ridiculous and they don't really shift enough air.
CBE - I would love to but I simply can't fit the neccessary plumbing through the service tunnel and the compressor will be a sod to fit (I had
to move my alternator to the spot where the aircon was)
lsdweb - Wow ..... 250cfm should pin me to the back window!
MkIndy7 - that's what I had in mind - I might be able to put them in a duct pipe to save space.
