Rear Arches

Well, got round to putting the rear arches on tonight... looks like I've got them on the wrong way round

The sharp angle at the bottom of the arch is at the rear and not to the front as can be seen on most peoples cars.

Does this matter, or should I swap them over trying not to make a horlicks of all the 6mm holes I've drilled.

Boo hoo hoo

Steve

oops!

I guess its up to you really. If you think they look okay as they are than i'd be tempted to leave it as is.
personally, I think i'd swap them round! (if only so that the stone chip protectors fit without any faffing!)

Hmm, with you on that oe Tim! But, it's my own fault, I only checked to see if they were front or back and only took the bubble wrap off one.

I'll swap it round. I've only got the offside one on at the moment so shouldn't be too much clart on

I'm considering some carbon fibre protectors so I'll be better off with them on the right way.

Sick

How many holes have you drilled?

I only did 4 and lots of silicone and they're more solid than the fixed ones that were on my Avon.

Pat...

Hey,

count yourself lucky you realised that after fitting one!

I fitted both of them before I realised
I wondered if I should keep them that way round but I knew as soon as I posted pics of the car finished some bright spark would pipe up with "Your arches are on the wrong way round"

bizarrely, my dad is almost positive that my front arches should be the other way around.
ive got the sharp edge to the front as i've seen lots of other MNR's do, but he thinks it should be on the rear side, so the front and rear sharp edges face each other.
He doesnt like it the way it currently is..

So, its each persons preference I guess.

Loads of holes 12 holes but some come against the chassis tubes so around 9.

No problem, I will take it off then off the correct one and drill a couple of holes to bolt it on and try and drill them from inside the car.

Then the one I have off already has the holes and shouldnt be too much hassle.

Im just looking at other peoples to see how the lights will look and think having the more square angle will look better.

Cheers guys,
Steve

Put some rubber mud flaps on the back to square the edge it will look OK. You may need to cut custom chip shields as the standard won't look quite right.

My wings are non symetrical there is a higher cut away on the drivers side conveniently that matches the exhaust but my chip shileds wont work. anyone want a pair of stainless sheilds for 10" wings?

I've just had a look, I think if it was me I'd swap them round, I think it notices more because the arches are Black.

Sorry

Hi.

If you like it as they are now, then keep it!
Personally I prefer this look

It's down to your taste, but it seems that the tire will be a bit exposed...

I'd swap them myself. It looks wrong at first glance and after a while I think you might hate it.

Worried? not in Portugal! You only need to worry about anything if your here in England (The weather mainly)

Joao, I think your layout at the rear looks superb, everything in line and pleasing on the eye.

I've swapped the arch and it makes me feel all warm and loverly

I've updated my blog with a couple of pictures.
