Throttle bodies + injectors

Im after a cheap(ish) way of upping the power output on my 1.6 M40 engine. But i cant find alot of performance parts out there. SO i was wondering how easy is it to DIY fit some motorbike throttle bodies and some new injectors. I know bike throttle bodies is done often but how much power gain is there? is it noticeable? is it easy enough to do?
Thanks Guys

You don't say what you have at the moment...If you have twin 40's, then the power gains will be small.....But, the low down pick up, and overall running should be better....

Changing to TB's is not easy as such...A new ECU will need to wired into the car, you have to install Air temp / coolant sensors, possibly a high pressure fuel system (if you currently run carbs)..........

Cost wise - I would say budget at least £500 if you go down the Megasquirt / Bike TB's route.......You need to make up an inlet manifold....

Good news is the Bike TB's are cheap, and come with injectors that will be fine for your 1.6 engine (go for TB's from a 600cc Bike)....

For power gains, also consider, head work....

Single throttle body but 4 injectors?
Start with a MegaSquirt and once you have got that working its easy to move to individual throttle bodies.
MegaSquirt on your existing fuel injection set up should release a few mor bhp just by you having control and not the standard emmision friendly ECU.

No idea what an M40 engine is........

We really need more info on your current set up - What ECU, As snapper said 'are you running 4 injectors'......

You will need to remap an ECU if going to 4 injectors...You should have the sensors installed if you currently have Fuel injection.

the m40 is just the bmw engine. it was the single overhead cam 8valve injection engine sorri for that confusion
yes it runs a single throttle body with 4 injectors.
Everything on it at the minute is standard so standard ecu and standard injectors. thanks for your help so far.
