whats the track difference between an escort and a cortina??

As above, i might be coming by an axle from a cortina, and wondered whether it was longer or different in any way to hthe escort one: i.e. will it fit straight into a book locost??

Ed.
P.S. also, can i get a slipper diff for it, and are they megabucks??

Ed,

Cortina/capri axles are a bit wider, I'm guessing 3-4inches as i know people have suggested using them on the +4 chassis. I know jasper had a spare cortina axle a while back, not sure if he's still got it. the main reason jasper changed his was that it was the wrong ratio for a bec, though would be fine for a pinto. not sure about lsd's, someone else might be able to tell us...

Ned.
