doubt it mate, recon it would have been more metal to be pushed into the cabin.

Agree on the poles, one of they bar stewards ran into my car when I was younger and reckless. Thank god for cars with chassis rather than the vogue for the poorly designed monocoque of the period. crumple zones and airbags make people feel too safe, big spike in the centre of the steering wheel would make people drive a lot safer.
