Like peteff says though, if it passed, it shows the inconsistency of the SVA men. I have had discussions with others that had nightmares getting these
top mounts passed by SVA and they had to make changes to suit.
Best way is to look at all solutions on other cars (like pete's) and go with one that meets the majority.
But, like I said above, the new ammendment, clearly shows the acceptable options, unlike the old book.

Pete, don't get too hastie. Look at it this way, the belt is attached to the plate. If the belt pulled forward (in a crash) it being looped
around the roll bar would transfer it to a vertical force pulling upwards on the plate. Potentially the plte could bend or try to lever the bolt out
(vertically downwards)
Anybody agree?

The bolts are 12mm thick threaded into 8mm of metal and tightened to at least 60psi. I think I'm safe . You would need a crowbar a lot thicker
and longer than the belt retainer and a fulcrum to get the effect you are looking for. I believe the belt will break long before any of the metal
gives up. I don't try to create problems where none exist, I use common sense and ask questions to find stuff out. I asked the tester before I
made the roll bar and it was o.k.'d by the centre.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I agree with the proposed theory but it aint going to happen unless pete has the mass of an elephant and can his car can reach about mach 2 and hits a
solid 50m x 50m x50m solid concrete block, given the scenario and i think the seatbelt mountings would be the least of his worries!,
personally i would be more concerned about my trunk flopping out the side of the car and burning on the exhaust!

I think the forces involved to break Petes mounts would have Pete sliced into 4 sections by the belts before the mounts gave up.
Think of that, 4 Petes!!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
