I guess the centre bearing can be moved around at a later date, if things sound nasty down there!

From what I read (don't ask where) as long as the two end flanges are parallel then the centre joint can be miss-aligned and not cause phasing.
There was a very complicated explanation that was mosly beyond me.
I got the jist of the explanation... but that could all be wrong!
