Err, going back on topic (sorry!) I made an intercom box and we use some pc headphone/microphone thingies that just take up one ear so the other is
free for hearing the traffic etc. (This is for when we have helmets on longer trips, otherwise you just shout )
Anyway, the intercom box has a 3rd input that can connect to a portable radio/cd player/mp3 player/whatever and by default this is what gets piped
into the earpiece. But press a small switch on the console and the inputs flick to the microphone so driver can hear passenger and vice versa. Release
switch and its back to the music.

No you will NOT be able to hear a stereo, unless you're driving Miss Daisy.
With the wind ringing in your ears (or, if you're a real man, you're wearing a helmet coz you ain't got a screen) and the sound of
an engine/webers etc you wont stand a chance. And remember on one side you'll have a f off exhaust 2 foot from your ear!
You could of course buy a Z3.
Just to back up Mark H............can't believe it either!!! If you wanna listen to a stereo get a mondeo, if your 7 is so boring that you need
a stereo then it obviously has no engine in it!!

IMHO the only In Car Entertainment you need is a gear stick in your left hand, a steering wheel in your right hand, a throttle under your right foot
and plenty of round abouts.

Of course we all know...
it's actually not legal for the driver to wear headphones whilst driving. IIRC
I agree with the "who needs music!"... you'll not hear it anyway!

For those who wish to have a bit of music or traffic reports telling where the radar traps are you could go the route of small speakers mounted in
the headrest of your seats. The Pontiac Fiero had them in there gt version and gave the ability of not having the blairing outside of the car.
Unless thats what your looking for.

you hear them on the Billy Cotton band show?

Seems to me that most of you building these cars are old duffers who like their comfort too much so why bother?
The whole point ,for me anyway of this type of car is too be able to actually enjoy driving.

Cheeky young scrote !!!!..... I'll race yer round the 'ouses anyday!.....Me bodywork might be (relatively) old but me engine's still
in good order (as long as it's well oiled anyway !)..........I dunno kids today..no respect !!!
That's because when we were young duffers like you son......we didn't have the money to build anything.
When I were your age I used to work a 26hour shift 380 days a year down t' pit, live in a cardboard box an' had nowt t' eat cept
bits o' cardboard and rabbit droppins.
We had no shoes...me mam used to black our feet and lace our toes up.
An we 'ad no central heatin'..me dad used to suck a peppermint and we all sat round 'is tongue.
And we were grateful!!!!
AND another thing........if I didn't enjoy driving AND building cars (not just talking about it !!) I'd not be building one
anyway.......so there !
Must go I've got to service the wife and girlfriend.......................now, where's me viagra ? :
Pete
Yeah I remember the Billy Cotton Band show.......whatever happened to Alan Breeze ?

Keep it down though or you'll mess your hair up. If you're not interested in the build just go out and buy a car. I enjoyed the build so
much I'm doing another now. How many 7 type cars have you actually driven, are you sure you will enjoy it once you've built it? There are
different types of driving and the locost is a bit raw if you know what I mean. I got to Stoneleigh after 60ish motorway miles with no windscreen and
had to wait 30 minutes for my hearing to come back. If you are just going to run round the local back roads it's a different matter.
