Tacho Question

Mornin' all (well it is where I am anyway )

I have sourced oil, temp and fuel guages, need to get a Speedo though. My question is, is it mandatory to have a Tacho for the SVA, (OK........IVA, who am I kidding ), or is it just 'the done thing'?

Thanks guys.

JB

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

tacho is not required.

but it is weird that a tacho is not needed yet the noise test is done at predefined rpm (some fraction of rpm at max power).

the sva guys have numerous ways of checking rpm.

-pickup on ignition lead

-vibration sensor strapped to engine

would agree its a handy thing to have though.
