Progress Update

Ive finally got my finger out this weekend, and got on with some of the last finishing touches needed to get the car done (still needs SVA-Friendly bits doing though)

Sorting my paperwork out now. Hoping to get it to MNR for checking over/SVA bits end of jan and SVA some time in feb

Looks something like this:

looking good

scoop looks lovely, haven't managed to do much on the car but you could help by letting me know how you got on cutting the hole in the bonnet and also fixing the scoop? It looks like the carbon mods one..

Cheers
Paul

Yes it is the carbon mods scoop.

To fit it i measured up where i wanted to fit it it, then drew around it.
I then drew a line 20mm in from the outline of the scoop.
Next i cut out the big hole of the inner line with a fine blade jigsaw giving me 20mm of overlap between bonnet, and scoop.
on the underside of the scoop i bonded 7x bolts so i could bolt the vent into place.

once the bolts had set i drilled the holes out of the bonnet so i could bolt the scoop on.

i then run a bead of tigerseal round the bonnet where the scoop sits, and i then bolted it into place.

once the scoop was on a ran more tigerseal along the inside just to make sure it was stuck down well

What did you use for the exhaust strap/where did you get the rubber for the strap from?

The exhaust strap i made from aluminium flatbar. After struggling to find one ready made big enough to go around the exhaust i thought stuff it, and made it myself.

the bit underneath the strap isnt rubber... its some exhaust heatwrap as ive got loads of it spare
