Any BT Engineers....Phone prob
The builders have managed to feck up the phone line. Broadband still works but
the phone doesn't.
Quick research says an open circuit can produce this but I think it's witchcraft
as of the three wires that come in to the juntion box in the house only one is
actually connected to the cables feeding the phones.
What I have is as this pic, bearing in mind the incoming on the right side is VERY old
single colour overhead cable.
ps....edit to add...
please excuse the spelling mistake..bkue=blue, but hey, it's 1.45 and
I'm a bit pished

That can't be right, are you sure there isn't a jumper inside the junction box that connects the green or black to the white/blue wire?

Nope, no jumper.
Sorted it now though. They should have used an orange wire instead of the green and black.
Hooked orange to the white/blue and all now ok.
Still don't understand how the DSL manged to work with one wire ??

It's a high enough frequency to travel down a single wire just like your telly signal does.
If you's said there was an orange I'd have given you the answer straight off

They'd cutt all the other colours right back so only the three mentioned were exposed.
I went back to basics and cut off 6" cable to start afresh. Stripped outer and went through
the colours till it worked
